Old Man Emu is world renowned for its better than stock ride quality. While only 1.5 inches over stock, we find that many Gypsy's are so worn out that an OME lift will seem to give you 2-2.5 inches
Ride quality is much improved over your stiff stock or even many aftermarket springs. Designed with military wrap on the front springs, draw tapered and diamond cut leaves, anti friction pads to reduce interleaf friction and to ensure that load distribution occurs at the leaf tips. Re-greasable nylon interleaf liners to reduce friction at the leaf tips where the load is the greatest.
Graphite Coated leaves go further to reduce the friction between the spring leaves & friction pads. The leaf clamps are bolted to allow installation of anti squeak nylon liners. The tension side of all leaves are shot peened to reduce spring stress. This process can double the life of a spring. Flat axle seat areas allow a positive, safe axle mount reducing spring stress & increasing spring life. Fully scragged and load tested to ensure the spring takes a permanent set which reduces the risk of sagging and meets the required specification. All this leads to a significantly longer, softer, and sag free life. Simply the best Samurai spring on the market.
If you are going to do any heavy duty crawling, you will want to add the extra leaf to the front springs. These springs are NOT built for spring over applications. That being said, many run them that way anyway. If you are going to run them spring over, we suggest a traction bar on the rear .
Medium Load Kit is recommended for Vehicles carrying 55-150 extra pounds per axle. The Medium Load Kit is the most usual recommendation for lightly modified Samurais.
Tires up to 29" fit well with this lift. 30"-31" with a body lift.
